what she says:
I liked the last jedi! I have a few minor complaints but they were overshadowed by all the good stuff
what she's thinking:
Rey calls kylo ren a “murderous snake”, and then when DJ betrays Rose and Finn, Rose calls Dj a “lying snake”. I guess you see snakes on Dagobah so the Star Wars universe DOES have snakes. BUT what are the odds that Rose and Rey who both come from completely different planets would both be familiar with snakes. And what are the odds that the two totally separate cultures they were both raised in, BOTH use snakes in their expressions as a creature that carries negative connotations? It took me completely out of the moment instead of paying attention to Finn fighting Phasma I was sitting there like, does every planet in the Star Wars universe have snakes? Are there some cultures that have different ideas about what it means to be a snake? Like in episode 9 will Poe Dameron pay someone a compliment by calling them “clever as a snake” because on his planet snakes are known for solving complex puzzles. Maybe the snake we saw on Dagobah wasn’t a snake it was just an alien with a different name that resembled an Earth snake. Maybe snakes are not a creature in the Star Wars universe, maybe the word snake is just an extremely vulgar cuss word, and those insults that Rey and Rose were saying were a lot stronger than we thought they were. What other expressions in this universe contain the word snake? I’m gonna start saying, “for snake’s sake!”, “Land snakes!” and then I was like oh my god Captain Phasma just died.

i feel like slughorn is a MUCH better example of a flawed but lovable character than snape and yet here we are

slughorn says stupid crap like expressing shock that muggleborn wizards and witches can be so talented but he also treats all his students equally in terms of academics, point distribution and desire to educate. the slug club is an example of his slytherin ambition but literally all he seems to want is like. to have his letters read and some free candy and to live comfortably. he loves his students a lot and actively avoids associating with death eaters. he believes in merit above all and is wowed by skill and character regardless of blood status or background. hes a nice flawed old man and hes way better than snape i dont CARE we stan the real potions master

slughorn pineapple potter, you’re named after the okayest man i ever knew
